Community Healing Circle on March 7

I’ll be offering Ayurvedic face massages at the March 7 Community Healing Circle.

I just served as a teaching assistant for my friend Margo Uma Gal’s class at The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. The class sold out with a wait list of 12. She’ll be teaching it again next winter, and you do not need to be a massage therapist to take it.

These face massages are slow, gentle, calming, and balancing, stimulating marma points to release blocked energies. (Many of us hold tension in our faces.)

Other benefits include promoting good sleep, improving mental alertness, and lymphatic drainage.

I use a small amount of a special oil blend, depending on your constitution.

To participate, just show up at Zero Gravity Yoga and Wellness and sign up for the healer and time slot you choose. The earlier you come (starts at 6 pm), the better chance you have of not having to wait — although waiting amid the pleasant company and healing vibe is lovely. It makes a lovely thing to do with a friend or date, and there will be multiple healing modalities to choose from.

Suggested donation for a 25-minute session is $25-35, with proceeds going to local nonprofits. More information is available on Facebook. https://facebook.com/events/s/march-into-wellness/230021528015078/?ti=icl

Community Healing Circle January 4

I’ll be back at this month’s Community Healing Circle, offering Heavenly Head Massage sessions for the first time. This will be an abbreviated version rather than the 45-minute version I’ve been offering at my office.

This monthly event offers 25-minute sessions from a collective of wellness practitioners that offer Reiki, massage, acupuncture, sound healing, astrology, and more. Practitioners vary from month to month. I’ve missed the past few months, and it will be good to be back.

The sessions are offered for a suggested donation of $25-35. Proceeds support charitable causes in the Austin area.

Come see us Friday, January 4, from 7-10 pm, at Soma Vida at 2324 E. Cesar Chavez. There’s a large parking lot in back. Enter through the back door  – we’re usually right there. Sign up for the practitioner and time slot that you prefer. Sessions start every 30 minutes. There are some light refreshments offered.

Community Healing Circle is on Facebook, where you can RSVP your plan to attend.

Also, Community Healing Circle is on Meetup, where you can join, RSVP, and request a reminder for your online calendar.

September Community Healing Circle

This is a monthly event where local healers of various types (bodyworkers, energy workers, sound healers, etc.) make themselves available for 25 minute sessions.

Receivers make a sliding scale donation of $20 to $35 for each session, and donations go to a worthy cause — nonprofits helping with immigration issues, I believe.

Yes, you can sign up for multiple sessions. If you come early, you have the most choice.

Note that the September event is on Friday, September 14, not the first weekend as it’s been in the past, and it starts later, 7-10 pm.

Same place, Soma Vida, 2324 East Cesar Chavez. Parking is in back. It’s posted as an event on Facebook.

May Community Healing Circle

Are you in need of healing? Are you adventurous and willing to try new techniques? Check out the monthly Community Healing Circle at Soma Vida!

These are usually held on the first Saturday of the month, which in May is Cinco de Mayo. So… the May Community Healing Circle will be held on Saturday, May 12, 6-9 pm.

As I’ve done in March and April, I will be offering 25-minute craniosacral therapy/biodynamics sessions. (You can schedule back-to-back for a 55-minute session.) These have been in demand, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to  meet new people and be of service.

Others will be offering energy medicine, card readings, sound healing, and more. Sessions are $20-35 per 25 minutes, and the proceeds support local charities.

Soma Vida is located at 2324 E. Cesar Chavez. Look for the green building, and drive around the back to park and enter.

Public offerings, spring 2018

I have two public offerings to announce.

I will be presenting at Austin’s annual Free Day of NLP on April 7 at St. Edward’s University. The event is 9 am-6 pm, and my presentation will be at 1 pm. The Austin Neuro-Linguistic Programming meetup has details.

Needless to say, it’s free!

My topic is Investigating the Power of Silence. It’s a deeper investigation into teaching stillness one minute at a time earlier this year and draws on discoveries during meditation. I anticipate this presentation allowing the audience and myself to experience silence multiple times and to share what we experience.  Continue reading “Public offerings, spring 2018”
