Our office air conditioning was not working over Memorial Day weekend. Last Thursday it got up to 81 in my office — a bit too warm and humid for giving or receiving bodywork. I asked several clients if they wanted to reschedule, and they all said yes.
It’s fixed as of Tuesday morning, thank goodness, because temperatures of 100 are expected next week.
It feels fine now. It also sounds fine. The condenser or compressor (whatever the part is that sits right outside my office window) makes a different noise, like an industrial strength exhalation. I definitely dig that! It’s wonderfully pleasant compared to the metallic grating sound it used to make. I’m grateful to everyone who played a role in getting it fixed.
I will be assisting at a training, TMJ and the Cranial Base, from Thursday, May 31, through Sunday, June 3. I’ve taken this class twice as a student since 2013, and I have used these skills a lot in my practice, including in a session today.
I look forward to assisting Christian Current teaching it and working with the students to learn and refine their skills. It’s more of an integrative technique than is taught in Upledger classes, drawing on massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, orthopedic massage techniques, and the slow waiting and listening that is a signature for manual craniosacral therapy.
I will be available for sessions the rest of June, all of July, and part of August, so if you’re thinking of getting some bodywork, I’ll be ready and able starting Tuesday, June 5. I’m running a special for TMJ work this summer to practice and prepare for another Upledger Institute class in August, Somato-Emotional Release I. Please check my Welcome page for details.
May your summer be full of ease and joy!
