When you schedule your first session onlin, you’ll fill out my intake form, identifying your concerns and issues.
During your session, after we go over your intake, I’ll ask you to check in on the current state of your system. This is your baseline.
Then I’ll help you get comfortable on my table, You’ll stay clothed, minus shoes, belt, dangly earrings, necklaces.
You choose whether you want the table warmer on and which weight of covering you prefer: none, a sheet, a light blanket, or a weighted blanket.
I offer you the choice of silence, white noise from my air filter, or the sound of ocean waves.
I invite you to let your body sink into my cushioned massage table and tune into your body’s sensations and breathing as you relax.
I ground and center myself before gently placing my hands on you — usually at your feet. Then I “listen” to your body with my hands.
You’ll enter a state of relaxation as your system calms and settles. You may sense internal shifts as your system reorganizes into a more optimal state. You may fall into a dream-like state or even sleep.
My bodywork table is electric, and if I need to raise or lower it, I let you know first so you won’t be startled. I may work from either side or end of the table.
I’ll ask you to check in with your system again after you get off my massage table, noticing the differences from when you arrived.
With craniosacral bodywork, you may notice changes for several days after a session. With repeated sessions, the changes are often cumulative.
If you have never received this kind of bodywork, I prefer to see new clients three times, to find out if this modality is a good fit, since it works from the inside out (unlike massage) and can be subtle.
I usually contact new clients after a session to see what you notice. I’ll ask if that’s okay first.
Most clients report noticing a difference, even if subtle, such as feeling more centered and grounded, calmer or more energized, less pain, sleeping better, mentally sharper, sensing less energetic or emotional baggage from the past, etc.
Most clients return until their symptoms are minimized, and some schedule regular bimonthly or monthly sessions for ongoing self-care.
If you have any questions, please schedule a Free Discovery Call. If you’re ready to schedule, select Craniosacral Biodynamics, the length you want (50 or 80 minutes), and whether you’re coming to my Austin or Wimberley office. I accept payment at the end of the session. See my Schedule page for more about sliding scale payments.
